Boston Artists in Residence Proposals Due September 27th!

September 23, 2015

The City of Boston’s Call to Artists “Boston Artists in Residence” Proposals are due September 27th!

The call is for Boston Artists of All Disciplines (Visual, Performing, Literary, Moving Image, Craft, etc.) Applications are due at midnight on this Sunday, September 27th. This is the first time in Boston’s history to have such a paid artists in residence program with the goal to integrate practicing artists into city government on all levels. (Note, the City of Boston has a Poet Laureate program: http://www.cityofboston.gov/arts/poetry/).

Some key tips:

1. Don’t wait to submit till Sunday night in case the web traffic of those also submitting causes the site to freeze or crash (note, this happened with a national call by a well known national organization not too long ago).

2. If you include hyperlinks in your pdf application, test them to make sure they work.

3. If you are including visual images (you can submit up to 10 examples of your work), make sure you include them in the pdf, not just as hyperlinks.

4. If you have the opportunity have someone read over what you are going to submit and give you feedback to strengthen your proposal, (and catch typos, etc.,) do so!

Good luck everyone!
