The Boston City Council is holding a hearing on cooperative workplaces and residences. Show your support for cooperatives and ask for the community-owned economy you want to see!
The event is free and we need you to attend! There will be Spanish translation available.
The hearing will include testimony on housing cooperatives and worker-owned and managed cooperative businesses. Speakers will present from coops, non-profits, and City of Boston departments. City Councillors will speak and be asking questions. The hearing will be videotaped and replayed on cable TV, so it is important that as many as possible attend.
Spoken and written public comment is needed and encouraged!

The Massachusetts Association of Housing Cooperatives will be among the speakers and will present an overview of the wide variety of housing cooperatives as well as their purposes and successes working with the Boston Department of Neighborhood Development and the Chief of Arts and Culture, Julie Burros.
