Art for Cultural Inclusion Symposium, Nov. 22, UMass Boston
The Art for Cultural Inclusion Symposium
November 22, from 12-7 pm
UMass Boston Campus Center
200 William T Morrissey Blvd
Dorchester, MA 02125
The Art for Cultural Inclusion symposium is part of a year-long international social-justice artist residency run by ACI, a nonprofit focused on using art to build and support inclusive communities through leadership development. The full-day event will showcase artists using various mediums to convey experiences and issues related to cultural and social inclusion.
The program includes an artist panel, TEDx style talks, and artist-led workshops. Workshops will cover topics such as globalization versus appropriation, humanities and healing, and ethnography through performance, and the business side of social practice.
The work of ACI artists, along with selected presentations from UMass Boston students in the Asian American Studies Program and the College of Liberal Arts, and community partners, will be featured during the event, which will also include live art sessions and performances.
