Guide for the November 6th Massachusetts General Election

Part Two –State-Wide Constitutional Office races:  the Massachusetts Governor and Lt. Governor races, the Attorney General race, the State Treasurer race, the Secretary of State race, and the State Auditor race.

No Candidate running has Published an Arts and Culture Platform!

MALC once again urges all the candidates and their campaigns to create a platform for our sector and to take the time to read the MALC 2016 Labor policy paper and the 2018 By Artists, For Artists report.  If you are volunteering or working on any campaigns, urge your campaign to create a platform and refer to the two publications mentioned above and linked below.

Massachusetts Governor’s and Lt. Governor’s Race

MASSCreative has collected questionnaires only from the gubernatorial candidates running for office via their Create the Vote initiative:

Massachusetts Governor’s Race

The governor’s race is a statewide election and this means everyone who is registered in Massachusetts can vote in this race.

Massachusetts Lt. Governor’s Race

Like the governor’s race, the lieutenant governor’s race is a statewide election, which means everyone who is registered to vote in Massachusetts can vote in this race.

All the elected officials who currently hold their seats for these four Constitutional Offices (AG, Treasurer, State Auditor, and Secretary of State) are running to be re-elected. These are state-wide seats and this means that anyone who is registered to vote in Massachusetts can and should vote in these general election races.

It is important to note that all of our State Representatives and State Senators are up for re-election. And as discussed in part one, there are also many federal races: One U.S Senate seat and all nine seats Massachusetts Congressional seats.


November 14th is fast approaching!  Attend the 12th Annual Artists Under the Dome Event at the Massachusetts State House’s Great Hall.
