Tourism, Arts And Cultural Development Committee To Hold Public Hearing

September 28, 2015

The Joint Committee on Tourism, Arts, and Cultural Development will hold a Public Hearing regarding several bills on Tuesday, September 29, at 1:00 p.m. in Hearing Room 437.  Here is the list of bills scheduled to be reviewed during the hearing:

H2921, An Act establishing a design certification program for cultural facilities and programming, filed by Rep. Ann-Margaret Ferrante

H2922, An Act to establish a special joint committee to study the Olympic Games in the Commonwealth, filed by Rep. Paul K. Frost

H2923, An Act to expand membership opportunities in local cultural councils, filed by Rep. Kenneth Gordon

H2924, An Act relative to the Connecticut River rowing facility, filed by Rep. Peter v. Kocot

H2925, An Act promoting transparency and accountability for hosting the 2024 summer games, filed by Rep. Michael J. Moran

H2926, An Act to Enhance Tourism at the State House, filed by Rep. Keiko M. Orrall

H2927, An Act to create the position of poet laureate for the commonwealth of Massachusetts, filed by Rep. Sarah K. Peake

H2928, Resolve establishing a commission to study art in public spaces, filed by Rep. Sarah K. Peake

H2929, An Act to establish a special commission to consider an appropriate tribute to Nelson Mandela in the City of Boston, filed by Rep. Byron Rushing

H2930, An Act to authorize the acquisition of land, the development and construction of an underground railroad, civil rights and black heritage museum and cultural center in Springfield, filed by Rep. Benjamin Swan

H2931, An Act relative to the architect laureate, filed by Rep. Chris Walsh

H2932, An Act establishing a disaster and emergency aid fund for Massachusetts artists, filed by Rep. Chris Walsh

H2933, An Act relative to resale royalties for artists, filed by Rep. Chris Walsh

H3535, An Act relative to funding public libraries and the C.O.M.M. fire district, filed by Rep. Brian Mannal

S1802, An Act to create the position of musician laureate for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, filed by Sen. Robert L. Hedlund

S1803, An Act creating the official shellfish of the Commonwealth, filed by Sen. Marc R. Pacheco

S1804, An Act relative to tourism collaboration, filed by Sen. Bruce E. Tarr

S1916, An Act establishing the Culture & Company Investment Corporation Law-“CCIC’s Law,” filed by Sen. Bruce E. Tarr (BY REQUEST)
