H.R. 1891 will Terminate Arts Education!

June 17, 2011

Two minutes of your time could save millions of dollars
for arts education!

Americans for the Arts Action Fund

From Americans for the Arts Action Fund:

“You need to know that Congress is now trying to cut the only dedicated federal source of support for arts education programs in the country.

“Last month, a Congressional House Committee passed a bill that would eliminate 43 longstanding federal education programs, including the model projects grant program for arts education. This same House Committee passed the bill by a party-line vote of 23 Republicans to 16 Democrats.  Under the misguided bill name of “Setting New Priorities in Education Spending Act,” H.R. 1891 will now move to the full House of Representatives for consideration in the coming month.

“Help us build the grassroots momentum to stop this bill from passing the House.  Send a customizable message to oppose H.R. 1891 to your Representative through our E-Advocacy Center.  Two minutes of your time could save millions of dollars for arts education.

“The Arts Action Fund is simultaneously working with our close Congressional allies on Capitol Hill to prevent this damaging bill from being enacted.  Please consider donating even as little as $5 to our Campaign to Prevent Termination of Arts in Education.”

It’s up to YOU to keep arts education funded.
