A Massachusetts Appeals Court has granted an injunction until, at least, December 11 to halt the auctioning of valuable art works donated to the Berkshire Museum for the benefit of public enjoyment.
A Massachusetts Appeals Court associate justice has granted an injunction to halt the auctioning of valuable art works donated to the Berkshire Museum, for the benefit of public enjoyment, until at least December 11. MALC wishes to express its heartfelt appreciation to Attorney General Maura Healey and her office for appealing the ruling earlier this week that allowed the sale to proceed.

“We join our clients, the Rockwell family and citizens of Berkshire County, in fully supporting this decision,” Michael B. Keating, a lawyer involved with the first suit aimed at stopping the sale, said, of the court decision. “The irreparable harm that would occur if these paintings were to be sold, coupled with the significant unresolved legal issues surrounding the legality of this sale clearly compel this conjunction.” ~ Massachusetts Appeals Court Pauses Berkshire Museum Sale, ARTNEWS
