Boston City Council Dec 12th Coop Hearing Postponed
From the Greater Boston Chamber of Coops:
Dear Friends:
Thank you to the 60+ of you who have RSVPed to the Boston city council hearing on coops. We are writing with an important update.
The coop hearing is being postponed as some of the Mayor’s staff now cannot attend. This was a surprise to many, including the offices of Councilors Baker and Zakim. The good news is that we do have allies in city government who are eager to hear more about coops and want to move forward on supporting them.
In the meantime, you can do a few things to keep the momentum going. If you were preparing written testimony, please (1) send a copy here and (2) send it to the city councilors –– no need to wait until the hearing happens. Second, anyone can take action online and email the mayor and city council using this form: https://actionnetwork.org/
We are rescheduling the hearing for January and will get back with dates as soon as they are known. We may aim for later in the day to better accommodate people’s workdays.
If you are on Facebook and have not yet joined the Greater Boston Chamber of Cooperatives group, please do so. The chamber is now also on Twitter @boscoopchamber.
Stay tuned…
