Breaking News in the Governor’s race!

October 24, 2014

MALC is closely following the Governor’s race and next week we will focus our Get Your Vote On! blogs entirely on this race.

Today Candidate Coakley released a substantial platform for our sector that includes several of MALC’s policy points from our Governor’s Challenge!

We encourage you to take the time to read Candidate Coakley’s policy: http://www.marthacoakley.com/Campaign-Updates/details/2014-10-marthas-plan-to-support-the-arts—-because-creative

We are happy to see that many of MALC’s policies are included in this platform, especially this item:

“Collaborate with leaders from the business community and the creative economy to protect intellectual property rights and strictly enforce fair labor standards, ensuring that all artists are compensated for their work in an appropriate fashion with fair wages.”

It needs to be noted, however, that Candidate Falchuk, was the first candidate in the Governor’s race to mention our sector in his issues platform. You can view it at his website under the section titled The Arts: http://www.falchuk2014.org/whatwebelieve

We also encourage you to also read today’s Get Your Vote On! post on those running for Lt. Governor:
