Cutting Edge Cooperatives learning event, Thursday, 2/12, (MA)
MALC has always been a strong supporter and defender of Co-ops. We have been very impressed with the Cooperative Development Institute (http://www.cdi.coop/) and the good work they do. Like MALC, CDI has been steadfast in their support and help in stopping any anti-coop legislation from passing on any level in our state.
Below, please find information about a wonderful coop forum in JP/Boston, MA.
Please share far and wide.

Stacey Cordiero has worked as a technical assistance provider to cooperatives for a total of 5 years at two different organizations: Cooperative Economics for Women (CEW) in Boston MA, and the Cooperative Development Institute (CDI) in Greenfield, MA. She has also worked as an independent consultant for the Vermont Employee Ownership Center, and provided peer assistance to the Boston Worker’s Alliance. She is a huge co-op resource, especially in developing cooperative bylaws, member evaluation procedures, company policies, and collective/democratic management structures, as well as researching and writing market reports, feasibility studies, and business plans.
Juan Leyton is the former director of Neighbor to Neighbor Massachusetts and City Life/Vida Urbana. He is currently working with the Local Enterprise Assistance Fund (LEAF), one of three Community Development Finance Institutions in the country providing financing to food coops, manufactured homes and worker owned enterprises.
Matt Meyer is a Housing Program Organizer with the Cooperative Development Institute and has begun to offer consultation for the formation of new group-equity housing cooperatives in the Boston area. He is also a founding board member and resident of the Lucy Stone Cooperative.
