New Festivals Program Grants Available

The Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) is launching a new Festivals Program this February to help festival programmers meet the needs of producing, promoting, and developing audiences.

In this pilot year, grant awards will be $500. Grant recipients will also receive technical support. Working together, MCC and ArtsBoston will create a framework to deepen the marketing and data collection capacity of festivals across the Commonwealth.

This grant round is targeted at festivals taking place between March 1 and August 31, 2016. There will be a second grant round mid-summer for fall and winter festivals, pending legislative appropriation.

The online application will open at 10:00 AM (ET) on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 and close on March 3, 2016 at 5:00 PM (ET). Applications to the Festivals Program will be reviewed on a “first-received, first-reviewed” basis. Regional diversity will be taken into consideration as part of the application review process. Applications are reviewed within six weeks of submission.

Guidelines and a sample application are now available for advance review. Sign up for an informational webinar on Monday January 25 at 10:30 AM.
