Get Your Vote On! September Federal Primary Races!
Not only are all the seats up for re-election this fall in the Massachusetts House and Senate* (i.e. all of our State Representatives and State Senators), but all of the seats in the U.S. Congress are also up for re-election. This means that all of Massachusetts’ Congressional seats are up! The U.S. Senate elections, however, are staggered. Only one of Massachusetts’ U.S. Senate seats is up for re-election this fall and the Democrat who holds it is running for re-election.
(To find out where to vote: http://www.wheredoivotema.com/bal/myelectioninfo.aspx)
There are nine Massachusetts Congressional Districts or nine Congressional “seats” for Massachusetts in the U.S. Congress. All nine of the individuals currently holding those seats are running for re-election. All our current Congresspeople are Democrats and all their names will appear on the Democratic September Primary ballot. Only two of the nine Congressional Districts will have a Republican candidate(s) on the September 9th primary election ballot.
Here is a break down of who is running in the Sept 9th Primary elections (i.e. their names will be on the ballot). Remember, the names of those running as independents or as unaffiliated will appear on the November ballot, not the September ballot.
