Joint Letter Sent to the President-Elect by the Music Sector

December 15, 2016

On December 13th a  joint letter was sent by SAG/AFTRA, the American Federation of Musicians,  and 16 other organizations to the President Elect to stress how important the music industry and those who create it are to our country and our economy.

From the SAG/AFTRA website:

“SAG-AFTRA joined 18 other organizations on Tuesday representing the full spectrum of the music community – from artists and songwriters to producers and labels and more – to send a letter to President-Elect Donald Trump in advance of his meeting Wednesday with several top technology executives. The letter explains how “music drives innovation” and that “sophisticated technology corporations can do better” in preventing illegal access to music and “paying fair market value.”
