MALC’s Own Don Schaefer Poses Top Challenge At MIT’s Hacking Arts, Sept. 26 – 27

September 15, 2015

Boston-based artist and MALC Steering Committee member Don Schaefer will challenge some of the best and the brightest minds come Hacking Arts 2015, Sept. 26-27, at the MIT Media Labs. Schaefer won first place with His “problem statement entry” to MIT’s Art Patch. Art Patch focuses on finding engineering solutions to creative arts problems.

The MIT announcement explains:

“Could you be the one to solve Don Schaefer’s first place MIT Art Patch problem statement entry? His thought provoking entry points out that authorship metadata is being stripped from images on the internet, and published to a multitude of blogs, websites, etc. without payment, or approval from the creator. This problem has a large impact potential, and could be solved using technology. Perhaps blockchain technology, or other technological solutions could be implemented, what do you think?”
