Tarr Amendment Withdrawn at State House

August 21, 2013

Supporters of artists’ cooperative housing and all cooperative housing scored a victory Thursday as State Senator Bruce Tarr withdrew Amendment #37 from the Senate floor. The amendment, which contained anti-coop language that MALC and its allies have defeated in the past, would have dealt a blow to cooperative housing throughout the Commonwealth.

Thank you to all the citizen artists out there, as well as all supporters of cooperative housing, who reached out to their state senators and made their voices heard.

[note color=”#f3e588″]Important! Boston coop residents are not immune from a Home Rule Petition currently before the Boston City Council that is essentially the same language as Amendment #37. Please see our update![/note]
