Update on MCC funding & tourism funding in House Budget

April 25, 2017

The House FY18 Budget debate has now ended.

The remaining two amendments/line items MALC is following were grouped into the category: Labor and Economic Development and were bundled/voted on in-Consolidated  “I”*

Representative Cory Atkins filed the following amendments for the tourism and the Massachusetts Cultural Council:

Amendment #6  for line item 0640-0300 for the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC)  to restore and increase the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s funding.

The amendment funding was changed- Mr. Dempsey of Haverhill and others move to amend H.3600 in section 2, in item 0640-0300, by striking the figure “$10,075,699” and inserting in the place thereof the following figure:- $12,075,699  (original request was $16 million)

For Tourism: Amendment #39 for line item 7008-1000 for the regional tourism councils (line item restoration, i.e., to restore their funding)- this amendment failed and did not pass. So no funding for line item 7008-1000
