Petition: Save Guards at Museum of Fine Arts Before It’s Too Late

Once again, Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts management is trying to negatively impact the museum guards’ union.

Sadly, it needs to be pointed out that the MFA museum guards “represent the most diverse staff in the whole Museum with people from all ethnic and racial backgrounds, and many who are artists, students, teachers, musicians, single parents, and grandparents.”

Please see the text of the petition for more information and please sign the petition:

Important! Comments due today for Baker-Polito Economic Development Plan

December 3, 2015

It is important that artists and artists’ run organizations submit their comments today on the Baker-Polito Economic Development Plan.

The “draft” Baker-Polito Economic Development Plan was released on November 12, 2015. The mandatory public hearing for it was held last week, November 16, 2015, by the Joint Committee on Economic Development and Emerging Technologies.

It is important to note that key priorities from the final Economic Development Plan will be more than likely be crafted into economic development bill filed by the Baker Administration in early 2016.

[blockquote align=”none” cite=”~Jay Ash, Secretary of the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development”]Massachusetts law requires each new administration to publish a comprehensive economic development plan, and an implementation strategy, within the administration’s first year.[/blockquote]

This plan is an “evolving document”.  All public comments are due by Thursday, December 3rd,  and should be sent by email to:
Adrian.Servetnick@State.MA.US
