An important Legislative Hearing will be held by the Joint Committee on Tourism, Arts & Cultural Development on Monday, June 6th at 11am in Room A-1 at the Massachusetts State House. Public testimony will be heard for several key bills that impact artists of all disciplines. The Hearing is free and open to the public. If you plan to speak you should arrive at least 15 minutes early to sign it to testify.

From the Massachusetts Cultural Council
New efforts to expand gambling in Massachusetts are moving rapidly through the state Legislature. We want to make sure the voice of the nonprofit cultural community is heard in this debate.
Our supporters in the state Legislature say it is urgent that cultural leaders, artists, educators, and others contact their Senators and Representatives directly and let them know whether they support expanded gambling in Massachusetts. Also the Massachusetts Cultural Council will soon send a survey asking your opinion on a range of gambling-related issues and how casinos and slot machines might affect the cultural sector and the work that you do.
