Applications for the MCC’s 2019 Artist Fellowships due Oct. 1!

MCC logoApply now for Mass Cultural Council’s Fellowships in Crafts, Dramatic Writing, and Sculpture/Installation/New Genres. Deadline: Monday, October 1, 2018.

The Artist Fellowships are anonymously-judged awards to Massachusetts artists. Grant decisions are based solely on the artistic excellence of the creative work submitted. This year, the Fellowships are $15,000. The program also awards $1,000 Finalist awards.

Mass Cultural Council announces $14 Million in Cultural Investment for MA

The newly announced cultural spending plan by the Mass Cultural Council shows their increased $2 million state appropriation over the previous year has been well targeted. Of particular interest to working artists is that the awards for Artists Fellowships have been increased from $12,000 to $15,000 per award. Details below.

New Spending Plan Will Invest $14 Million in Culture Across the Commonwealth

(Boston, MA) – The Mass Cultural Council released a spending plan for the new fiscal year that will invest more than $14 million in a range of grant programs, services, and initiatives to support the arts, humanities, and sciences in communities across Massachusetts.

The FY19 spending plan increases grant awards for nonprofit cultural organizations, communities, and artists. It also significantly boosts investment in creative youth development and education in schools and communities statewide. (more…)

In our Get Your Vote On! series, we stressed how important this primary election is.

Every seat in the Massachusetts State Legislature is up for election. The Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, Treasurer, State Auditor, and Secretary of State – all are up for election!

All the members of the U.S. House of Representatives and one Massachusetts U.S. Senate seat will be on the ballot!
