Senate Appropriations Committee Approved FY2019 Funding Increase for NEA & NEH!

“We are pleased to report that earlier today, the Senate Appropriations Committee approved the FY 2019 funding increases for several federal cultural agencies based on the allocations set earlier this week by Senate Interior Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Ranking Democrat Tom Udall (D-NM). Senator Udall referred to the work as a “remarkable accomplishment.” This latest action firmly rejects the Administration’s attempt to terminate the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). Competitive Funding Round is Open for @MassDev Collaborative Workspace Program

MassDevelopment visualThe goal of the Collaborative Workspace Program is to accelerate the pace of new business formation, job creation, and entrepreneurial activity in communities, by supporting infrastructure that fuels community-based innovation. Eligible collaborative workspace applicants may apply for either Seed Grants for predevelopment and feasibility work, or Fit-out Grants for building improvements and equipment purchases.

We are excited to announce the opening of our third competitive funding round on June 11, 2018. Proposals are due in electronic format via email at cowork@massdevelopment.com no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, July 20, 2018. Funding decisions are expected to be announced at the end of September. Contact your Senators! Support the $2mil Increase to NEA’s FY2019 Budget

Contact your U.S. Senators now to ask them to match the House support of a minimum of $155 million for the NEA’s FY2019 budget.

On June 6, 2018, the U.S. House Appropriations Committee approved funding for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) at $155 million for FY 2019, a $2 million increase. ~ Americans for the Arts Action Center
