Senate Ways & Means FY 18 Budget is set to be released next week

May 10, 2017

Next week the Massachusetts Senate Ways & Means Committee will release its proposed budget for FY18.  All amendments for the budget will need to be filed by 5pm on Thursday, May 18th. The budget debate is slated to begin on Tuesday, May 23rd (Note: this date could change).

MALC is following the budget line item for the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the Library budget line items,  the budget line items for the Tourism, etc. We will also be monitoring for any proposed unfavorable changes to our state’s tax film credit program.

Update on the fate of the Affordable Care Act (ACA)

Yesterday the U.S. House passed  their bill, the American Health Care Act (AHCA),  to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA). It passed  by a very close vote (217 to 213).
