Today, Oct. 19, Last Day To Register To Vote!

October 19, 2016

The deadline to register to vote in the the November 8, 2016 State Election is today, Wednesday, Oct. 19!

Go here to get details on registering online, by mail, and in person: http://www.sec.state.ma.us/ele/

At stake is the presidential race, as well as races for the U.S. House of Representatives and the State Senate and House of Representatives. There are also 4 ballot questions to be decided come November.

Voting is important. Here’s the proof. At the founding of our nation, most states only allowed white male property owners to vote. The state legislatures recognized the vote meant influence on state affairs, and they wanted such influence restricted to certain people.

Most of us have the vote because freed slaves, women, and conscientious men fought for us to have it. And they fought hard. Some lost their lives. So come November, take the power and cast your vote. But first, make sure you are registered to do so!
