This is not a projection; this is actual lost income reported to date.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In that same week,<b>\u00a0individual artists and independent teaching artists-humanists-scientists reported a total of more than $2.89M in lost personal income, \u00a0<\/b>according to the real data of the survey.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">[sexybutton size=&#8221;large&#8221; color=&#8221;blue&#8221; target=&#8221;_blank&#8221; url=&#8221;https:\/\/www.votervoice.net\/MAARTS\/campaigns\/73005\/respond&#8221; icon=&#8221;noicon&#8221;]Take Action: Support the Creative Community<br \/>\nduring COVID-19[\/sexybutton]<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->In light of that data, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mass-creative.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MassCreative<\/a> created a set of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mass-creative.org\/covid19policy?utm_campaign=covid19advocacy2&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=masscreative\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>COVID-19 State and Federal Policy Recommendations<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for the creative sector that included the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Any economic recovery or stimulus bills must include recovery funds for arts, cultural and humanities organizations. Relief and economic recovery programs developed by the state should include artists, independent creative workers, and small businesses.<\/li>\n<li>Cost-sharing between the state and self-insured nonprofit employers where those employers are paying for individuals unemployed as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic, as recommended by the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1HSYQqg_qEIR0lJuIjHW9nDBGPHl_e-JX0MBZHmYIlps\/edit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Massachusetts Nonprofit Network<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Lobbying the federal government for a Major Disaster declaration in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in order to use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fema.gov\/pdf\/media\/factsheets\/dad_disaster_declaration.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Stafford Act<\/a> which allows for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mass.gov\/info-details\/employee-unemployment-faq-covid-19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Disaster Unemployment Assistance<\/a> for individuals who are contract workers and not eligible for unemployment insurance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">[sexybutton size=&#8221;large&#8221; color=&#8221;blue&#8221; target=&#8221;_blank&#8221; url=&#8221;https:\/\/www.votervoice.net\/MAARTS\/campaigns\/73005\/respond&#8221; icon=&#8221;noicon&#8221;]Take Action: Support the Creative Community<br \/>\nduring COVID-19[\/sexybutton]<\/p>\n<p>Remember, also, to stay tuned to our <a href=\"http:\/\/artistsunderthedome.org\/malc\/news\/covid-19-resource-list-for-creatives\/\"><strong>COVID-19 Resource List for Creatives<\/strong><\/a>, which is regularly updated.<\/p>\n<p>Take care and be well!<\/p>\n<p>The MALC Steering Committee<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to the Mass Cultural Council&#8217;s survey of artists and non-profits: In just under a week, the Commonwealth\u2019s nonprofit cultural organizations reported a loss of more than $55.7M in revenue.
