The creative sector, led by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mass-creative.org\/\">MASSCreative<\/a>, fought to restore the funding but came up short.<\/p>\n<p>MASSCreative released the following statement:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Thanks to all who jumped to action over the past couple of days as the House debated the reauthorization of the Cultural Facilities Fund. It&#8217;s so important that we show the voice and strength of the creative community when there\u2019s a cut to arts funding.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, we did not get the result we wanted. Last night, the House passed H. 3920 with Cultural Facilities Funding at $50 million. The bill, now H.3933, has been sent to the Senate, where we will have an opportunity to make an impact.<\/p>\n<p>With your help, we&#8217;ll work to restore the Cultural Facilities Fund to $75 million before it gets debated on the Senate floor. Hearings will be held both in the Committee on Bonding and the Committee on Ways and Means.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s vital that we share the stories of the Commonwealth\u2019s creative community and show the impact that arts and culture have in building vibrant and connected communities.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re interested in meeting with leadership, testifying at these hearings, or submitting written testimony, please send me a note, and we will let you know when the Senate starts taking up the bill.
