If they approve it, the budget then goes to the Governor.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/malegislature.gov\/Budget\/Process\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/malegislature.gov\/Budget\/Process<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The released budget did not contain any changes to the Film Tax Credit.<\/p>\n<p>The MCC was funded at $14,160,000.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Massachusetts Cultural Council.<\/strong><br \/>\n0640-0300 For the services and operations of the council, including grants to or<br \/>\ncontracts with public and nonpublic entities; provided, that the council<br \/>\nmay expend the amounts appropriated in this item for the purposes of<br \/>\nthe council as provided in sections 52 to 58, inclusive, of chapter 10 of<br \/>\nthe General Laws; provided further, that 25 per cent of the amount<br \/>\nappropriated in this item shall be transferred quarterly from the State<br \/>\nLottery and Gaming Fund to the General Fund; provided further, that a<br \/>\nperson employed under this item shall be considered an employee within<br \/>\nthe meaning of section 1 of chapter 150E of the General Laws and shall<br \/>\nbe placed in the appropriate bargaining unit; provided further, that not<br \/>\nless than $60,000 shall be expended on the Cogswell school building for<br \/>\nexecution of the feasibility study requirements for the Cogswell school<br \/>\nproject in the Bradford section of the city of Haverhill; and provided<br \/>\nfurther, that not less than $100,000 shall be expended for the Playwright<br \/>\nMentoring Project at Barrington Stage Company, Inc. in the city of<br \/>\nPittsfield &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;$14,160,000<\/p>\n<p><strong>The outside section for percent for public art is in the budget:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>(Note this is only part of this section)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>SECTION 28. Chapter 7C of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following<\/strong><br \/>\nSection 73. (a) There shall be a Massachusetts percent for art program, or MPAP, to be<br \/>\nadministered by the public art commission established in subsection (c). The MPAP shall<br \/>\nprovide for the creation and preservation of existing public art in the city of Boston and<br \/>\nmunicipalities designated as gateway municipalities under section 3A of chapter 23A.
