The 9th Annual Artists Under the Dome<\/strong> is less than a week away. It is on Wednesday, November 4th,<\/span><\/span> from 9:30 a.m.\u00a0– 2 p.m.<\/span><\/span><\/strong> in the Great Hall<\/strong> of the Massachusetts State House<\/strong> in Boston. The only event of its kind in this country, it\u00a0has become a day both the artists community and the legislative\/public policy community look forward to each year.<\/p>\n

Much good has come from this annual\u00a0 event. Legislators and policy makers get a chance to thank and talk directly with the artists community\u00a0regarding issues,\u00a0 legislation, and regulations that directly impact working artists of all disciplines. This event also enables much networking and resource sharing between participating artists. This day has also helped to grow much needed\u00a0long-term connections between the artists community and legislators\/policy makers of our Commonwealth.<\/p>\n

A special thank you to those artists who are able to take the time to come to the State House on November 4th<\/span><\/span> to engage with their elected officials and state policy makers. Unlike the majority of arts administrators and arts leaders who are paid to do these kind of events, most artists are taking a day off from work and\/or from their studio\/creative time to attend.<\/p>\n
