{"id":5317,"date":"2015-12-18T10:46:07","date_gmt":"2015-12-18T15:46:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/artistsunderthedome.org\/malc\/?p=5317"},"modified":"2015-12-18T10:46:07","modified_gmt":"2015-12-18T15:46:07","slug":"good-news-for-arts-and-arts-education-policies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/artistsunderthedome.org\/malc\/news\/good-news-for-arts-and-arts-education-policies\/","title":{"rendered":"Good news for Arts and Arts Education policies"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Arts and Arts Education policies move forward in Washington<\/h3>\n<p>Two arts-related bills were released by Congress this week:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>FY2016 Consolidated Appropriations Act<\/li>\n<li>Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Highlights include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The budget for the NEA was increased to $147.949 million to the President\u2019s request.<\/li>\n<li>The budget for the U.S.. Department of Educations\u2019 Arts in Education program also increased to $27 million\u2014a $2 million increase.<\/li>\n<li>Permanence for the IRA Charitable Rollover. Permanence will give certainty and spur new and increased charitable donations to arts and culture institutions and the full array of nonprofits that serve Americans every day.
