Beginning in February, festival organizers across the Commonwealth will be able to apply for grant awards ($500, in addition to technical and development assistance) in a pilot Festivals Program<\/a> “to\u00a0meet the needs for producing, promoting, and developing audiences”. The Festivals Program, facilitated\u00a0jointly by the Massachusetts Cultural Council<\/a> and ArtsBoston<\/a>, will be open for applications beginning at 10am, on Wednesday, February 3, 2016. Applications will be reviewed on a “first-received, first-reviewed” basis.<\/p>\n

New Festivals Program Grants Available<\/h3>\n

The Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) is launching a new Festivals Program<\/a> this February to help festival programmers meet the needs of producing, promoting, and developing audiences.<\/p>\n

In this pilot year, grant awards will be $500. Grant recipients will also receive technical support. Working together, MCC and ArtsBoston will create a framework to deepen the marketing and data collection capacity of festivals across the Commonwealth.<\/p>\n

This grant round is targeted at festivals taking place between March 1 and August 31, 2016. There will be a second grant round mid-summer for fall and winter festivals, pending legislative appropriation.<\/p>\n

The online application will open at 10:00 AM (ET) on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 and close on March 3, 2016 at 5:00 PM (ET).<\/strong> Applications to the Festivals Program will be reviewed on a “first-received, first-reviewed” basis. Regional diversity will be taken into consideration as part of the application review process. Applications are reviewed within six weeks of submission.<\/p>\n
