It passed\u00a0 by a very close vote (217 to 213).<\/p>\n<p>The legislation now heads to the U.S. Senate. \u00a0If this legislation passes as it is now written, it will have a very negative impact on our State&#8217;s Health care system and will impact everyone- even those who obtain their insurance from their employers. Our elected officials- Governor Baker and the entire Massachusetts Delegation (our Congresspeople and Senators) oppose this legislation. The Senate will make changes to the legislation, but it remains to be seen what those changes will be.<\/p>\n<p>MALC will continue to follow and report on this key issue that deeply impacts our community on many, many levels.\u00a0Thank you to everyone who took the time to advocate on this House legislation.
