This amendment would cripple a strong and growing local industry; costing thousands of local jobs, hurt small businesses across the state, and force new graduates from higher education programs to leave Massachusetts in search of new jobs.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Amendment #38 would place a cap on the amount from a single salary that can be used towards the calculation of the credit.<\/li>\n<li>This amendment targets an essential investment that major productions make in high-profile talent.<\/li>\n<li>These changes will make MA uncompetitive, sending major productions and good-paying local jobs to competing states.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Larger productions, with high-profile talent, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">spend more money<\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">create more jobs<\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">buy more goods and services<\/span> from local businesses, and have a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">greater economic impact<\/span> on MA cities and towns.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Make no mistake: productions will leave and choose not to come to Massachusetts if this change happens.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Debate on this amendment will likely occur today\u00a0(Tuesday, May 23) so we must get our emails and phone calls to the Senate immediately.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">ACT NOW!<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Use the link below to email your State Senator and urge them to Oppose Amendment #38.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/massprodcoalition.org\/voter-voice\">massprodcoalition.org\/voter-voice<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>CALL Your State Senator and tell them to oppose Amendment #38.
