We also monitor what is\u00a0filed in the \u201coutside\u201d section(s) of the budget.<\/p>\n<p>The first step in our\u00a0state budget process is the release of the governor\u2019s budget. By law, the governor must release their budget the fourth Wednesday in January (unless it is the beginning of a new term, then it is the fifth Wednesday the governor file\u2019s their budget).<\/p>\n<p>To learn about the state budget process see this link:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/malegislature.gov\/Budget\/GovernorsBudget\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/malegislature.gov\/Budget\/GovernorsBudget<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Yesterday, on January 24th, 2018, Governor Baker released his FY19 Budget and to see his full budget see this link:<a href=\"http:\/\/budget.digital.mass.gov\/bb\/h1\/fy19h1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0http:\/\/budget.digital.mass.gov\/bb\/h1\/fy19h1\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Some key budget line items in the Governor&#8217;s budget:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>i. Governor in his budget left the Film Tax Credit as is!<\/p>\n<p>ii. He level funded the Massachusetts Cultural Council:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/budget.digital.mass.gov\/bb\/h1\/fy19h1\/brec_19\/act_19\/h06400300.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/budget.digital.mass.gov\/bb\/h1\/fy19h1\/brec_19\/act_19\/h06400300.htm<\/a><\/p>\n<p>iii. He massively defunded the Mass Office or Tourism and Travel (which also has the Mass Film Office&#8217;s budget) to $163,176:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/budget.digital.mass.gov\/bb\/h1\/fy19h1\/brec_19\/act_19\/h70080900.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/budget.digital.mass.gov\/bb\/h1\/fy19h1\/brec_19\/act_19\/h70080900.htm<\/a><\/p>\n<p>iv.
