{"id":8677,"date":"2018-04-26T19:36:53","date_gmt":"2018-04-26T23:36:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/artistsunderthedome.org\/malc\/?p=8677"},"modified":"2018-04-26T19:36:53","modified_gmt":"2018-04-26T23:36:53","slug":"final-update-on-house-budget-debate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/artistsunderthedome.org\/malc\/news\/final-update-on-house-budget-debate\/","title":{"rendered":"Final Update on House Budget Debate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This afternoon the House complete its budget debated and also voted on the last two amendments MALC was following.\u00a0The next step in the budget process is for the Senate Ways and Means Committee to release its proposed budget in early to mid May.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong>The last two amendments MALC was following: <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong>Amendment #184 to H4400 Line Item 0640-300\u00a0<em>for the Massachusetts Cultural Council &#8211; filed by Representative Atkins<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #808080;\">Amendment Language: Representative Corry Atkins filed this amendment to increase the budget of the Mass Cultural Council to $17 Million. The House Ways &amp; Mean budget level funded the MCC at $13,950,699.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">It was in the bundle: Constitutional Officers and State Administration and was placed in Consolidated Amendment &#8220;H&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\">The final language was:<em> &#8220;And further amend said item by striking out the figure \u201c13,950,699\u201d and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- $14,500,699;&#8221;<\/em> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ff0000;\">Thus increasing the MCC budget by $500,000.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span style=\"color: #666699;\">To read the MCC&#8217;s news release about the final House budget:\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.massculturalcouncil.org\/news\/House_budget_FY19.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/www.massculturalcouncil.org\/news\/House_budget_FY19.asp<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong>Amendment #185 to H4400 Line Item 7008-1001\u00a0<em>for the Regional Tourism Councils &#8211; filed by Representative Atkins<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #808080;\">Amendment Language: Representative Atkins also filed an amendment to support the regional tourism councils-by inserting a new line item- 7008-1001 -to fund the councils at $4,000,000.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">It was \u00a0in \u00a0the bundle: Labor and Economic Development\u00a0and was placed in Consolidated Amendment &#8220;I&#8221;
