This morning the proposed 2019 Senate Ways and Means Budget was released. This is the fifth step in the Commonwealth’s budget process.<\/p>\n

MALC follows several line items in the State budget.\u00a0 In this post, Part One, we will highlight the MCC, MassArt, and Tourism. Part Two will highlight funding for the libraries.<\/p>\n

Here is a link to the proposed Senate 2019 Budget:\u00a0https:\/\/malegislature.gov\/Budget\/SenateWaysMeansBudget<\/a><\/p>\n

Amendments to the proposed Senate budget will need to be filed by noon on Monday, May 14th. The Senate will begin its debate on its budget on Tuesday, May 22nd.\u00a0 MALC will post key amendments to the budget and what you can do to help support them.<\/p>\n

Key Budget Line Items:<\/strong><\/p>\n

0640-0300 Massachusetts Cultural Council $ 14,034,982<\/strong> (The final House Budget funded the MCC at $14,500,699<\/span> and the Governor level it funded at $13,950,699)<\/p>\n

7008-0900 Massachusetts Marketing Partnership\u00a0\u00a0$848,176<\/strong> (This line item has several earmarks in it, while the final House Budget and Governor funded at this line item at$163,176)<\/p>\n

7008-1300 For the operation of the Massachusetts International Trade<\/strong>
\n Office ……………………. $111,074\u00a0<\/strong> \u00a0(Same as the final House Budget and the Governor’s budget)<\/p>\n
