The Governor\u2019s proposal would maintain current cultural funding levels for Fiscal Year 2020, which begins July 1.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Mass Cultural Council seeks an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.massculturalcouncil.org\/news\/FY20_MassCulturalCouncil_Budget_Proposal.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$18 million state appropriation, a roughly $2 million increase<\/a>, for FY20. Executive Director Anita Walker said the agency will make the case for that increase to the Legislature in the coming months in concert with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mass-creative.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MASSCreative<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/masshumanities.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mass Humanities<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/artistsunderthedome.org\/malc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mass Artists Leaders Coalition<\/a>, and their statewide networks of advocates.
