Creative placemaking projects and initiatives bring arts, culture, and creativity into government and community – led planning and community development efforts. Done well, it can help planning and community development processes be more locally informed, human – centric, and holistic.

This workshop will unpack best practices and potential pitfalls for creative placemaking initiatives and includes a walking tour of Worcester’s Pow!Wow ! Festival murals.

Audience: Community development corporation staff, municipal staff, artists, arts organization staff, and community organizers

Workshop leaders: Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) community engagement and arts staff

This training is brought to you by MACDC in partnership with MASSCreative and the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) through NACEDA funding.
