Attend The Artists Under The Dome Event!

For the eighth time, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is inviting Massachusetts artists working in all disciplines (visual arts, literary, performing, crafts, new media, etc.) to the State House on Wednesday, November 12th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the State House’s Great Hall to receive thanks for all that you contribute to our state’s economy and quality of life. The event is free and open to the public.

After the State House it’s the After Party!

Be sure to attend the Artists Under the Dome After Party from 7pm to 11pm.

When: 7 p.m – 11 p.m.

Artists Under the Dome Event Schedule (subject to additions/changes)

(You may attend one or all of the events depending on your schedule!)

10:00 a.m. – 10:25 a.m. Artists are welcomed to The Great Hall and received their welcome packets

10:25 a.m. Welcome by the Massachusetts Artists Leaders Coalition and the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) (Great Hall)

10:30 a.m. Welcome and opening remarks by Legislators and elected officials (Great Hall) (more to be added…)

  • Chairwoman Representative Corey Atkins – House Chair of the Joint Committee on Tourism, Arts & Cultural Development (Co-host for this section of the event)
  • Chairwoman Representative Sarah Peake* – House Chair of the Joint Committee on Municipalities and Regional Government
  • Chairwoman Senator Linda Dorcena Forry – Joint Committee on Municipalities and Regional Government
  • Representative Chris Walsh – Member of the Joint Committee on Tourism, Arts & Cultural Development

11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Artists visit their Senator’s and Representative’s offices

12:30 – 1:00 p.m. – Networking & Information Sharing Brown Bag Lunch (Great Hall)

  • Special Guest: Suzanne Curry of Health Care for All to discuss the new requirements of the Affordable Care Act and how it impacts individuals artists of all disciplines.

1:00 – 2:00 p.m. -Roundtable discussion in the Great Hall: The 21st Century Role of Labor in Arts & Culture
