Important Update on Berkshire Museum and Sale of its Art at Sotherby’s
This Tuesday evening the judge hearing the cases to stop the sale of the artwork from the Berkshire Museum at Sotherby’s on November 13th, sided with the museum and allowed the sale of the art work to occur. To stop the sale of the artwork, the Attorney General would need to appeal the judge’s decision. No official word yet from the AG’s office if she will appeal as they have only that they are studying the judge’s decision. MALC is firmly against the sale of these artworks and sent an open letter to the Museum’s board on the matter.
MALC will do its best to keep the artists community informed of this important issue.
