Creative placemaking projects and initiatives bring arts, culture, and creativity into government and community – led planning and community development efforts. Done well, it can help planning and community development processes be more locally informed, human – centric, and holistic.
This workshop will unpack best practices and potential pitfalls for creative placemaking initiatives and includes a walking tour of Worcester’s Pow!Wow ! Festival murals.
Audience: Community development corporation staff, municipal staff, artists, arts organization staff, and community organizers
Workshop leaders: Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) community engagement and arts staff
